Event Description:
Join us for a discussion of the importance of diversity and inclusion to the future of your business. It's no secret that the demographics of our country and region are changing dramatically, as are the expectations of the next generation of workers.

To remain competitive in this changing marketplace, businesses will need to embrace diversity and inclusion to attract the best talent, accelerate innovation and reach new customers. While many enterprise companies have been working towards this goal in recent years, small-to-medium-sized businesses often struggle with knowing where to start and how to achieve change without the help of a team dedicated to this culture shift.

The Chamber is partnering with Deborah Biddle of The People Company on a three-part series to help small-to-medium-sized business leaders begin the process of developing and implementing a plan.

Part One: Building Inclusive Workplaces, February 28, 2020
Participants learned key concepts, discussed the business imperative and benefits, and reflected on how their workplaces would be impacted by this work.

Part Two: Framework for Inclusive Workplaces, June 16, 2020
In this session, we’ll share a framework for building your diversity and inclusion initiative. We’ll discuss considerations, implementation tips and common pitfalls to avoid. Bring your questions and ideas. We’ll learn, discuss and explore what may make sense for your organizational culture.

Part Three: Leading Inclusive Workplaces, July 7, 2020
Leading a diversity and inclusion initiative is complex. Differing preferences and expectations along with how they overlap and intersect leave managing these efforts among employees, customers and community members full of surprises and challenges. In this session participants will learn the competencies necessary to lead organizational change and drive a culture of workplace inclusion.
