Event Description:
Fears! There are hundreds of them: fear of change, failure, speaking up, losing a job, making mistakes, etc. Fears run rampant in organizations. They impact:
Individuals' learning and development, engagement, sharing and communication
Healthy, collaborative, financially stable, productive, creative, customer focused cultures
Fear impacts the bottom line! Yet few executives link fear in their organization to the erosion of profits. Many leaders are unaware of the more than 100 kinds of fear and the debilitating impact fear has on individuals and the organization and its success. Often when leaders become aware of fear, they rationalize it and accept it-and that is a recipe for disaster, both culturally and financially. Companies are driven to do more with less, be lean, chase management fads and "best practices," drive to meet the numbers, targets and arbitrary numerical quotas. Fear has been elevated to unhealthy levels and produced toxic cultures. Having employees engage in the business in healthy ways requires that leaders use new thinking and behaviors, create new structures, and transform fear into trust.
