SCORE WORKSHOP:  Leadership Through Experiences and Strategic Planning

In this workshop you will look at the difference between being a manager and being a leader.  The group will discuss vision, reality, ethics and courage as it pertains to leading and guiding an organization.  You will also look at methods of communication, example setting and continuous learning. 
 
In the area of strategic planning, you will look at process improvement, changes in competition and changes within our industry segment, client demographics and growth.  The group will also discuss community outreach and the role a leader should play.
 
Participants should be prepared to share their business vision, mission statements, be prepared to talk about their leadership experiences and company responsibilities.
 

What is SCORE Madison? 
The Service Corps of Retired Executives is a non-profit organization dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small businesses in Madison.  The mentors are active and retired with experience as small business owners, attorneys, consultants, engineers, advertising managers, sales and marketing executives, IT managers, retailers (food and restaurant) and construction managers. 

Roger Henson is Chair of the workshop group of SCORE Madison.  He worked at Xerox for 36 years and retired as vice president of customer service of operations.  His energy and leadership experience will make this next SCORE Workshop helpful for any business owner looking to improve and their leadership skills in their business.
