Latina and Black Women Take the Stage at ¡Yo Quiero Dinero! 2025
Saturday, November 8 | MyArts Theater | 1055 E Mifflin St, Madison, WI
What:
Midwest Mujeres proudly presents the 2025 edition of ¡Yo Quiero Dinero!, a storytelling showcase where Latina and Black women share powerful, personal stories of resilience, entrepreneurship, and economic survival.
This year’s keynote, journalist Jamie Perez, returns to the stage to share why she left—and why she’s back. Alongside her:
-
On stage storytellers: Tennisha Loggins, Stephany Penate, Jo Fernandez, Aida Leflore, Jenise Judon, Stephanie Habeck, Gina Guerrero, and Francelia Lara.
-
On video storytellers: Alumna Shirmiel Duncan, and Maria Elena Matos-Schultz.
From Tennisha’s journey of building a family-run business empire to Francelia’s training of 300+ childcare providers, these stories highlight the deep cultural, economic, and community impact of Latina and Black women in Wisconsin.
