Have an Orangutan Friendly Halloween at the Zoo

MADISON (October 3, 2013) – Gather up your family and join the Henry Vilas Zoo on Sunday, October 27th for Halloween at the Zoo.  Dress up in costume and bring your treat bags to this safe trick-or-treating event.  Halloween at the Zoo includes two treat stop lines, a fun-filled activity tent, live music, a chance to see some amazing animals, and much more!  This fun family event is a great way to interact with your community and support your forever free zoo. 

At treat stop locations guests will be able to fill their treat bags with orangutan friendly candy that either does not contain palm oil or is made from sustainably harvested palm oil. This helps wild orangutan conservation by preventing loss of orangutans’ forest home from farming for non-sustainable palm oil production in Indonesia and Malaysia.  If you’d like to learn more about orangutan friendly candy, please watch vilaszoo.org and our Facebook page.
