GLOBE UNIVERSITY-MADISON WEST VETERINARY TECHNOLOGY OPEN HOUSE
Join us for an educational, informational and family fun experience as Globe University-Madison West celebrates the role of animals in our lives with a FREE open house on Saturday, September 10th.
Kids will enjoy great entertainment as the open house will feature free kids games, a petting zoo, a reptile exhibit, and food.
Globe University instructors and local guests will hold several seminars throughout the day. Guests can expect a valuable learning experience spanning emergency care for your family pet to learning about police dogs and their work in the community. A complete listing is below and registration is NOT required.
Guests will also have the opportunity to tour our Veterinary Technology Department and learn what Vet Techs do!
•Microscope Lab: Take a peek at what is floating around in your pet from blood to parasites.
•Imagining Lab: Learn about crazy and interesting cases that have been seen in veterinary medicine.
•Animal Information: Thinking about getting a dog or cat? Come talk to us! Want to get an exotic pet? Come and learn about these animals and how to care for them.
•Surgery: Come take a look in a surgery room and all the equipment needed to make your pets surgery as risk free as possible.
Seminars:
•10:00am -10:50am: "Why Does My Cat Do Silly Things?" Learn about cat behavior with Angela Martin Licari, CVT, VTS. She will cover the midnight crazies, alarm clock kitties, kneading with paws, tapping water bowls, hunt but not eat their treasures, and more!
•11:00am-11:50am: “First Aid for Pets” Come and learn what to do in an emergency situation.
•11:00am – 10:50am: “How to Recognize Pain in Your Pet at Home” with Kristen Cooley, CVT VTS.
•12:15pm – 12:45pm: “Police Dog Demonstration with Officer Todd Behm” Officer Behm his police dog will give a demo and talk about what they do for the police department.
•1:00pm – 1:50pm: “Litter Box Recommendations” One of the most common behavior problems seen with cats is trouble with their litter box. Learn about different litter boxes and what can work best for your cat with Angela Martin Licari, CVT, VTS.
•1:00pm – 1:50pm: “Horses with Colic” What is colic and why does it happen? Join Dr. Jane Lund as she talks about prevention as well.
