Event Description:
As a part of the Moxie Conference, the YWCA Madison and Wisconsin Public Television are hosting a viewing and discussion of Makers: Women Who Make America. This film reviews the story of how women have helped shape America over the last 50 years through one of the most sweeping social revolutions in our country's history, in pursuit of their rights to a full and fair share of political power, economic opportunity and personal autonomy. After the screening, Nina Valeo Cooke will facilitate a discussion about this moving film. Nina is the Undergraduate Advisor and the Director of the Internship Program for the University of Wisconsin - Madison Department of Gender and Women's Studies. She is also a board member at large of the Wisconsin Women's Network.
