Event Description:
The Public Private Partnership of Dane County will be hosting a FREE workshop on Cyber Security on Wednesday September 26, 2012 from 1-4:00 pm at Madison College - West Campus (302 S. Gammon Rd., Madison, WI 53717). This workshop is designed to provide an non-technical awareness of cybersecurity issues and provide you with information you can use to develop a cybersecurity strategy for your organization.

The purpose of the workshop will be to orient non-IT people to cyber security issues. After attending the workshop, you will be able to identify the different types of cyber threats your organization is vulnerable to, understand the functionality of protective measures from both the technical and user perspectives, and understand some of your legal responsibilities when maintaining personnel information.

Topics of discussion include:
• ?nIdentifying relationships between user habits and cyber threats.
• ?nUsing organizational policy to protect against cyber attacks.
• ?nLegal responsibilities for protecting personally identifiable information.

The Partnership understands your time is at a premium, so the workshops are designed to be concise and informative. The Partnership’s goal is to provide you with information that will give you a basic foundation for developing strategies and connect you with a network of professionals that can work with you to build on that foundation.
