“Peter, Paul and Mary are folk singers” as the liner notes to the group’s self-titled 1962 debut album stated. The legacy the trio inherited as well as the legacy they leave will continue to inspire, because theirs is a music and message of activism and hope. Current and future generations will find no better validation of their own search for social equity than the enduring music of Peter, Paul and Mary, sung by two of the group’s original members.
